COMICS.

I have finally moved into my new place in the big city. This means I’m closer to stuff, I don’t have to deal with British transport on a daily basis, and I can also spend way more time doing creative stuff, or otherwise motivating myself to do so.

In regards to the idea I mentioned in the previous post, I’m pushing it into the background so I can continue work on my Chapter 1 remaster. I feel like that’s more of a priority, seeing as it’s a retread of old ground (in terms of my story).

Getting Chapters 1-3 redone as soon as possible also allows me to publish some cool supplements to give out/sell at conventions; that was one of the goals on my list for 2018.

MUSIC.

Moving into a new place is always fun, cause it means I get to decorate my room however I want, and shove posters and shit everywhere. The previous occupants left a collection of nails scattered randomly in the walls of each bedroom. Annoying, but it’s given me cause to get a few notice boards up.

I’ve put a ton of band posters on the walls, and gone through my collection of mementos in the ol’ hoarding box. Lots of music-related stuff, getting me hyped for upcoming jams and gigs.

I remember this time last year, being frustrated with a lack of job and a lack of money to do anything. Couple that with being at home in the middle of the country, not really within walking distance of anything. Social stuff became rare and my wings felt thoroughly clipped. It was going from one extreme to the other in the space of a few days and I swore I’d move back out as soon as possible.

Here I am. I did it guys. Yay me.

STARGATE.

So I’m a huge Stargate fan, and have been for most of my life. Me and my grandparents used to watch it a lot and it’s one of the ways we bonded.

It is a sci-fi franchise that ran for 14 glorious years across three separate sister shows, and one animated series that not many fans even acknowledge. I digress;

It’s recently made a comeback in the form of a webseries called Stargate Origins, and it’s fan-made, studio-funded, low-budget and fucking great. Great, that is, as a stepping stone to a true revival. Revivals are in this year, right?

One of the shows’ main writers, Joseph Mallozzi has taken to social media to rally fans, cast, crew, anyone, everyone to let MGM know that fans want a fourth Stargate series for a story continuation and some closure on some of the threads left hanging after the end of Stargate Universe in 2011.

Never have I seen something unofficially dead look quite this salvageable. Mr. Mallozzi’s done a great job so far, with the test for the Twitter campaign exceeding expectations, and gaining the support of many of the main cast and crew of the franchise too.

The real deal happens on Twitter at the end of the week and it could mean the long-awaited return of my favourite TV show of all time and I am so excited – enough to devote a sizeable section of my post just to Stargate.
