Normality rears its ugly head.

I guess you get comfortable in lockdown after a while. Furlough; all the time in the world; no plans to possibly make. Complain about it all you want, because that’s the “normal” thing to do, but truth be told, I’ve been my most productive during this lockdown thanks to all the free time it’s allowed me.

So, in a way, I kind of don’t want it to end. But at the same time, it’s been long enough now.

There were a couple hiccups and events in the last 6 months that’ll definitely make it a time period I will never forget, and I am grateful that I wasn’t obligated to show my face as much as I would have outside of lockdown. Maybe I still don’t feel ready to emerge back into the real world or something. Personally, I don’t think that’s it.

Guess we’ll never know.

COMICS.

Cold Reset 3 has beGUN! 9 pages are done and are in the process of going up. I’m pushing forward with more pages as we speak, and I’m hoping to get this entire Chapter done and dusted before the end of 2020. Might be an ambitious one, that. But we’ll see!

The first three pages of Chapter 3.

I’ve put a shit ton of work into this one, thanks to all the extra time I’ve been afforded – script re-writes and re-re-writes and scene shuffling, sending it to friends for proof-reading, all that jazz. It’s also a very important chapter and a milestone for me, in a way. It was around 3 or 4 years ago that I put the story of my comic on pause, in order to REMAKE the first 3 abysmal chapters.

They were pen and ink, scanned in, stickmen in boxes. They had awful dialogue, terrible pacing, all things I never considered putting any thought into back when I first made them. Obviously, things are different now, and I wanted new readers to have an easier and more gripping induction into the story, before I continued making it.

I knew remaking 3 whole comic issues would be challenging, and time-consuming, but I never realised just HOW time-consuming. Here we are, though, and I am on the LAST comic before I am more-or-less caught up.

There are a few edits I want to make to Chapters 4, 5 and 6 before they go back up, but these aren’t full remakes. Just updates.

So, before long, I’ll be back onto Chapter 7, where I originally paused the comic all those years ago. I also have BIG plans for taking the series to conventions and things once the world continues spinning. But I’ll talk about that more once the balls are a-rollin’.

STUFF.

To be honest, I usually ramble about other stuff in these posts, like movies and shows I’ve been watching, music I’ve been listening to, news with my band(s), but there’s too much to talk about and I can’t be arsed going into mundane detail.

Standout things I will mention, however:

Chills.

The trailer for The Batman absolutely blew me away and I am currently in a major Batman mood, and have re-bought the Arkham games to play through again. I also spammed the Dark Knight movies with my sister, as she had never seen them before, so that was nice! And I have utter faith that Battinson will be the greatest portrayal yet.

No context spoilers.

I have watched a ton of South Park as background for my work, and finally got around to playing The Fractured But Whole, which I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend to anyone who enjoys the series. It’s like a looong movie and contains higher quality writing and jokes than many of the recent episodes.

I am currently going through the X-Files / Millennium / Lone Gunmen series. I’ve found a nice list on Reddit that outlines essential story episodes, fan-favourite episodes, and generally cool episodes, cutting out most of the “filler” and I’ve been going through it chronologically with all 3 shows. Been meaning to watch the X-Files for YEARS, having only seen random episodes out of order in the past.

Gotta say, I am man-crushing on Mulder a lot more than I thought I would. It might even rival my crush on Coop.

That’s all I got for now!

More comics soon!

PEACE.

SONG OF THE DAY.
