Happy (Belated) New Year!

It’s 2019! I’m gonna be 26 this year and that depresses me so much. But hey-oh!
What’s new, what’s new? Read on!
COMICS.
Gosh darn. I have been working a fair bit on Circus, as well as revisiting The Blood and the Quill (if you don’t know, it’s my written series set within the Meridian Six “lore”) and making it a little more visually interesting. I’ve changed it from a simple text-only thing, to stylised text laid out artistically alongside a simple illustration. Chapter 1 has already gone from 6 pages to, like, 16. Hopefully I will get these updated online soon!
I’ve also finally started on an old idea of mine. Yes, it’s Meridian Six AGAIN – I know right? – but this one’s a little different overall. If I had to pitch it, I’d say it was like a classic comic strip format, like you still see in newspapers and stuff, and it features several “segments” or just different titles within the main title. And I have a few different segments planned, as well as several ideas for one-offs. This comic will generally be a more lighthearted and comedic tone than the main series, and the idea is to feature stories and scenes that I didn’t feature in any of the main comics.
Like, “what was this character doing while we were following THIS character?”, for example. Or like “How did this character come to be in THIS place when we met him in Circus?” As time goes on, it’ll hopefully start resembling what I have in my head a little more.
But for now, here’s a sneak peek at Meridian Six: Director’s Cut

So you can see it’s way simpler than I usually do, but I feel it’s a very suitable style for the format. And the sense of it being unfinished really works for the concept of it being, essentially, a “deleted scene”. I know, it’s a gimmick and you can bet your ass I’m gonna milk the shit out of it!
Anyway, this first segment, Matt & Alec is gonna introduce the two titular characters and what they were up to during the events of Cold Reset; events which haven’t even been remastered and uploaded yet… I’m getting a bit ahead of myself. But Matt & Alec will be appearing VERY soon(ish) in Circus! Yay!
MOVIES.
I watched Glass recently. I get it. I really do get it. But I was still disappointed by that ending. I wish it had gone down another way. But I get it. Seriously. I get it.
I managed to see Into the Spider-Verse two days before its release, so that was exciting. I was absolutely blown away by that movie. Blown away. I don’t even know what to say about it, I just need to watch it again.
GAMES.
I got back into Watch Dogs 2, after playing it for 30 minutes or so on release day. That was a long time ago. But this time I got much further! In fact, I’m likely going to play it to the end! Although, I am currently taking a break from it in order to work on comic stuff. And also, I just got the remaster of Resident Evil 2, which I fully plan on playing ASAP.
Picked myself up an old PS3 copy of God of War I and II too, and then III on PS4. Gonna play through them at some point then finally get onto IV. I also bought Resi 7 because I want to shit myself immediately.
What else… what else…?
TV.
Season 2 of Runaways was really good! Season 2 of Punisher was excellent! Season 1 of Cloak & Dagger is dragging! The rest of Season 4 of FTWD was strange but enjoyable!
I have been watching a fair amount of Louis Theroux recently, as he’s just all over Netflix and I must say: I love him. He is such a lovable adorable babe. But I noticed his more recent documentaries are either too serious for jokes or he’s just lost his drive a little bit. The older ones display such a childlike and carefree attitude from Louis, and that’s just totally absent from the latest ones… Probably seeing as they are focused a lot more on heavy shit like pedophiles, autism, crime, prison, etc.
But still!
STUFF.
So my employer’s employer’s employer sat me down and praised me for stepping up lately and keeping the business chugging through a difficult transition period – in other words, I was promoted a few months ago and am one of only 4 people who actively slave away through the week making sure we don’t fail inspections. The outcome of this sit-down was a £1000 bonus to January’s pay.
I got a Macbook Pro.
And I am using it to type right now. Smooth as butter.
Actually, I got an old 2015 Macbook Pro. Because all the reviewers and experts and YouTube people and forums were telling me that 2015 was the peak model to get. Apparently from 2016 onwards, there were a lot of changes made that were effectively detrimental to the quality of the computer itself. And that worked out fine for me, because I have £400 left over from my bonus, and I get to work on art and shit on my Mac at the same time. It runs like butter. Smooth af.
Anyway.
That’s me.
Be back soon, hopefully not too long. Hopefully I’ll be bringing some Circus with me!
SONG OF THE DAY.
