That new series I mentioned in the last post?
Yeah it’s progressing super quickly.
At least by my standards.
Today/yesterday saw the beginning of the second chapter (which is fully done, by the way, even though it’s only 7 pages, but still…). I’m super proud of how it’s turning out and the next chapter I’ll be working on is something I’ve been looking forward to drawing for years. Literally years.
So, in just over 2 weeks, I’ve managed to get fifteen whole pages done. That must be a new record for me. I wish I had this with Cold Reset, which I WILL revisit soon. I think the reason Cold Reset takes so long is because the linework is really clean and technical.
Like the page I’m working on at the moment has this big overhead shot of a towering building and cityscape. I’m holding back some detail for the city, but the building has involved a shit ton of perspective lines and when it comes to shading and lighting it, I see a lot of repetitive lasso-tooling and stuff.
I’ll have to find a good show to pop on in the background.
The appeal of Circus for me is how rough and scratchy I can be. I work much faster that way, in a way that works for Circus, but wouldn’t for Cold Reset.
What’s funny is Circus‘ story will start relying on Cold Reset‘s story more and more, and there will be some offhand references and character appearances that won’t make sense until I’ve drawn certain Cold Reset chapters.
It’s not an issue or anything, just some random info for this post, seeing as I’m going off on one.

Anyway, that’s what’s new. Here’s a banger.
SONG OF THE DAY.
